Thank you for the last 25 years!

As a thank you:

With your encouragement, we have been so fortunate to have been a part of many projects and to meet and collaborate with many including you.

As we served in theatre and film, our mission also shifted. Here are the highlights:

For the first 11 years, we provided theatre production services to tell encouraging stories on stage.

  • 1999 to 2011: Some highlights were:
    • Acting and Directing Community Plays for the Hussar Library
    • Stage Managing and Production Managing the Passion Play
    • Directing and being involved with several plays at Fire Exit Theatre including “God Committee”.
    • Stage Managing “Hockey Dad” and Directing “Twinkle” with Burnt Thicket Theatre touring Vancouver Olympics, Winnipeg Fringe, and Cold Lake Winter Games.
    • Directing “Little Women” at Three Hills Arts Academy
    • Producing and Directing two award-winning one acts “Graceland” and “Asleep on the Wind” at Fringe Festivals including the Calgary Fringe and the Edmonton Fringe

Then we shifted to story solutions on film for small businesses and stage performers.

As we developed our film work, it became clear that there was a special kind of story we were to tell – mental wellness stories.

  • 2016 to 2021:
    • We wrote and directed a suicide prevention narrative doc called “Are You Listening: A Pathway to Empathy”  with Cache Productions which is being used in prisons, schools, and toured festivals.
    • And we produced and directed a drama about how a father and son grieve differently, “Reflections: When It’s No Longer”. This film has received 28 awards on the festival circuit and is highly regarded. Local screenings are being developed.
    • We began to learn screenwriting for television.

Based on our 2021 follower survey, we learned that well-rounded wellness is as important to you as it is to us. We shifted our focus to include not only mental wellness but also relational wellness.

  • 2022 to 2023:
    • Dramatic Crime Mystery series: To foster community and relational wellness between police as well as between police and citizens.
    • Comedic series: Mental and spiritual wellness can be inspired through joy and amusement!
    • Identity film: To foster mental and spiritual wellness
    • Historical film: To encourage community interpersonal wellness with the Western District Historical Society.
    • Wanda became a certified coach with Certified Flourishing Coaching.

This year, to celebrate our 25 years, we are expanding to include a Coaching Branch, Be W.E.L.L. Coaching & Films. Watch our social this week for details.

It’s amazing to write and remember all that we have been given. We look forward to the next 25!
